Passion

What excites me to get up from my bed every morning enthusiastically… and I’ll do it every day even if I am not paid is personal transformation work. My passion is to:

  • help others discover their “true self’, be their “true self” and believe in themselves,
  • enrich and transform their lives, and
  • inspire them to learn while enjoying every moment of their journey here on earth.

Josiah and Jordan

My children and my family are also my passion.  I love my two boys, Josiah and Jordan.  They keep my days filled with exciting events and activities.  They keep me ticking… Josiah has a caring heart, kind and loving. He is such a genius especially when it comes to electrical and mechanical items. Josiah is also highly intuitive boy. Jordan is ever gentle and kind. He is witty yet so loving in his being that everyone’s heart will just melt seeing him. Both of them are my pride and joy. I am blessed to have them here with me on earth and to teach me so much about life.

My husband, Zach, has been so supportive of me all these years and I thank him for his love and his beingness.  He keeps me going every day with his humor; wits and just being there for me when I need someone…love you darling!

My parents are also my passion.  I am so indebted to my parents.  I know both of them have worked so hard in the life just to create a better life for the three of us.  My mother is such a caring, loving and giving person.  In my heart, she is the most precious being on earth.  Her sacrifice for us is just so much that I am unable to express enough my gratitude and love for her.  My mom had to give up her education at the age of 8 to support her family.  Every morning she has to wake up at 5am to prepare whatever necessary for the coffee shop to be ready for customers (my mom runs a coffee shop owned by my maternal grandparents).  And she doesn’t sleep until around 1am.  She amazes me on how she keeps up even till today.  She is very entrepreneurial too.  Whenever there is opportunity to sell something to make some money, she will work at it just to earn the little extra for her family.

My father is a civil servant working with the Road Works Department and I am very grateful to him too although he is a man of few words.  We hardly see my dad much because every day, he will be out of the house around 6am and he works out in the hot sun and will only be back around dinner time.  He worked hard to ensure that his family is well supported and I know deep down in his heart he loves all of us so much.  My father is also a very giving and caring person.  Both my parents keep me going every day, knowing that they have given me so much that it is time for me to give them back and also to the world.  I am thankful that God has placed me in their care and I have learnt so much about life from them.

Besides my lifework, children, husband and parents, I am also deeply passionate about community work especially when it comes to children.  I have been actively involved in fund-raising projects for children for years.  I truly believe that children are our future generations and working with them will help change our society for better and transform and change the world for better.  Thus, I would also like to share with you about this place called Harvest Centre (please do visit their website for further information).    I am excited about the work they are doing.

So, why am I excited about Harvest Centre?  Very simple, in all my years of supporting orphanages, I came to realize that most orphanages provide only basic necessities for children.  However, many of these orphans still think that they are not good enough and that they are not going to achieve much in life.  I know of many orphans or single-parent children from orphanages who are drop-outs from school or are mixing with the wrong group of peers.

The difference with Harvest Centre is they teach the children to fish instead of just giving them fish.  However, most importantly, they are giving these children their self-esteem and dignity.  Every child at Harvest Centre gets new uniform (not hand-me downs), own books and proper meals.  The whole idea is to show that they are equal as any other child, they are as deserving as any other child and thus, by doing so, these children start off knowing they are no different from the children of other families and that they are good enough and will be able to achieve more in life.   By doing so, Harvest is truly breaking the cycle of poverty.

Before I end, I would like share with you 2 verses of the lyrics from the song – ‘Greatest Love of All’ by Whitney Houston..

I decided long ago, never to walk in anyone’s shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I lived as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can’t take away my dignity
Because the greatest love of all
Is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all
Inside of me
The greatest love of all
Is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all

I believe that children of our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children’s laughter remind us how we used to be

Just remember, discovering our passion is a journey…most importantly, be truthful to ourselves, love ourselves and listen to our hearts…

I hope you have enjoyed reading what I have shared and thank you for sharing your time with me… )
